Mission Statement

To be the informational and professional resource for all NYSNA Members who provide school meals that contribute to the improvement of the optimal heath, nutrition, and education of school children to reduce food insecurity.

Who We Are

We are a cohesive group of school nutrition employees, managers, directors, registered dietitians, nutritionists, and industry members in New York State committed to ensuring that all students have access to healthy meals.

What We Do

We provide information, services, and continuing education to school nutrition and food service professionals in New York State. We sponsor conferences where attendees receive educational opportunities through workshops, speakers, and exhibits showcasing the latest innovative food service and nutrition trends. The most current regulations and issues in school nutrition are addressed at these events.

"Being a member of the New York School Nutrition Association has enabled me to network with incredible people that share the same passion I have for school nutrition while also giving many educational opportunities through scholarships that made it possible for me to go back to school to earn my master's degree."

Julie Raway, RD, CDN, SNS, Registered Dietitian, Broome Tioga BOCES

"As a Director of Food Service I appreciate New York School Nutrition Association and being a member of this professional organization. The association has given to me valuable information, guidance and assistance and has provided me learning opportunities I would not have found anywhere else.

NYSNA's legislative action is extremely important to the operation of school nutrition programs in New York State. By being on top of legislative movement that could impact programs, lobbying for positive change and providing opportunity for the members to be directly involved, the value of being a member is unmeasurable. I proud to say I am a member of such an elite organization that truly is what their mission statement says "To Promoting Excellence In Child Nutrition!"

Nancy Younglove, Food Service Director, North Rose Wolcott Central School

"As a professional working in the field of school nutrition it is so important to stay abreast of the changes and trends in school meals. Being a member of NYSNA provides me with a variety of resources and contacts at your fingertips to help manage the challenges I face in my position. Membership comes with a variety of educational training opportunities which will be especially important with certification requirements and one of the biggest benefits is all the people you meet in the association from all over the state that all share a common bond...a passion for feeding kids. I am not in this alone there are so many people that I can network with to come up with ways to address the challenges this profession faces."
