Join Chef Julie Harrington, RD and the New York Beef Council for a special evening of guided hands-on interactive cooking demonstration, nutrition insights and how to adapt a consumer recipe in school foodservice.

Chef Julie will review the benefits of including protein, specifically beef on the school lunch menu. In addition, Chef Julie will identify the foodservice focused recipes incorporating beef, provide an interactive cooking demonstration for two of the recipes. NYBC and Chef Julie will offer advice on how to use these recipes on school menus and incentive to do so for Fall 2021-'22 school year.  These recipe are both consumer grade (4 servings) and food service grade showing the versatility of feeding students or family.

 What to Expect:
-Participants will receive $25.00 gift card to purchase beef and any missing ingredients missing from their pantry or cupboards to cook along.
 -A list of ingredients and recipes will be included with the grocery gift card. Participants can cook alone with one of the two recipes supplied.
-Chef Julie will cover tips on beef cookery, beef’s versatility and nutrition for a variety of meal-prep hacks.
-New York Beef Council will offer and incentive to FSD/Schools  to incorporate one of seven school food service grade recipes to their school menu Fall 2021.
